3 Characteristics of a Good Lending Partner

Thinking about your next Fix and Flip? Before you commit to a lending partner, ZINC has some advice to make sure you are choosing the right one. The last thing you want is to put your investment at risk. So, here are 3 characteristics that you should always look for in a lending partner to ensure a smooth and successful fix and flip:

  1. Make sure the lender has control over their own funds– Some lending partners will work with a third party because they do not have enough capital to lend out. But that could leave the borrower waiting on someone else to make sure their loan gets funded and may result in it being funded late. Here at ZINC, we control our own funds and have our own capital. This ensures that no borrowers are waiting on anyone else to fund their loan.
  2. Knowledge of the local market– It is vital that your private lender knows about the market in which you choose to invest. It is crucial that your private lender has extensive knowledge and experience in this industry so that they can help you receive the best possible outcome from your fix and flip.
  3. Responsiveness– You do not want to jeopardize your investment because of a lender that doesn’t respond. Your lender should support you every step of the way and should always be there to answer any questions you may have. At Zinc, our team guides each borrower through the entire funding process and always updates our borrowers on the status of their loan. Be sure that you choose a lender that cares about your investment as much as you do.

Todd Pigott, ZINC owner, has done over $100 million in fix and flips all over the US. This has made him an expert in the industry and has given him knowledge of many different markets. Todd notes that having the right lender can make or break the success of your investment. ZINC encourages all investors to do their research before committing to a lending partner. Make sure to ask questions to ensure that your loan will be funded in a timely manner and that you will be working with a lending partner who actually cares about your success as a borrower.
